Flying to Sanibel Island

The closest airport to get to Sanibel Island is Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. From there, expect 45 minutes by car to the island. Leaving the mainland you'll cross the scenic 3-mile Sanibel Causeway Bridge and

arrive on the island. Periwinkle Way, Sanibel's main road, has no stoplights and a maximum speed limit of 35 MPH.

Rental cars, taxi and shuttle from Fort Myers airport to Sanibel Island are available.

From Fort Myers Beach

Take 865/San Carlos Blvd North to Summerlin Rd West. Continue onto McGregor Blvd and the Sanibel Causeway. Access the island via the Sanibel Causeway Road. Toll required.

By Boat Sanibel Marina, on North Yachtsman Drive, has 65 boat slips as well as a waterfront restaurant, boat rentals, charters and sightseeing guides. Travel from Cape Coral to Sanibel Island by boat through Paradise Boat Rentals.
